Just 60 Kms from Milan, Rivanazzano Terme - a well-known spa village nestling among the green foothills of the Staffora Valley – is accessible by every means of transport. It is a short distance from Voghera's railway station, from both A7 Milano-Genova motorway (exit for Casei Gerola) and A21 Torino-Piacenza motorway (exit for Casteggio or for Voghera) and it even has its own small airport.
It lies in an area full of countless recreation opportunities such as pleasant trips to the discovery of monuments, natural beauties, the ancient "Via del Sale" ("Salt Road") - a network of trading routes linking the Ligurian Sea with the inland - local markets, country festivals, sports facilities together with excellent food and wine to be enjoyed. All year round, it is possible going hiking or mountain biking along the Staffora's banks and through woods or vineyards; in winter, skiing on the Penice's and Cima Colletta's slopes; in summer, hiring horses, taking riding lessons or going fishing in streams and little lakes. Tennis courts, a golf course, outdoors and indoors swimming pools, gyms and games of bowls are available in every season. Furthermore, winemakers and farmers can offer delicacies of every kind, from selected different types of rice to local cheese, from mushrooms and truffles to salami, from bacon to coppa, from mostarda (pickled candied fruit in a spicy syrup) still smelling of fresh fruit to homemade biscuits.
